One of the best compliments you can receive as a business-to-business vendor is the repeat business of a client.
We strive to be the type of sign company that can provide our clients a complete turn around service that makes us their go-to sign provider for all of their sign and graphic needs. We have found that complimentary partnership with our client Georgia State University.
It began with ADA Signage.
Georgia State University was faced with finding a new signage provider when their sign shop closed over six years ago. They reached out to Pinnacle Custom Signs at that time to ask if we could help with some ADA signage on campus.
When we spoke, they wanted to make sure that our firm was going to be able to match the existing standards. After our first conversation, we agreed to take on the project and will be honest about the fact that we did not fully know what we were getting in to at the time. However, we quickly became experts.
Our team started by taking an existing campus sign and deconstructing it piece by piece. We matched the sizing, shape and materials that GSU had utilized for their other signage.
Once we identified the elements for the existing signage, we completed our first job for the school at their 1 Park Place location for Luvert Holt who oversees renovations at GSU.
As the months went on, we were given one ADA job after another. Every time we made a trip back to campus, we were able to build relationships with multiple GSU Faulty and Staff members. This included meeting the team in the Construction Department.
And led to more customized signs for GSU’s needs.
Although we primarily started out only working on the campuses ADA signage needs, we started to identify other signs on the property that we could help their staff handle.
Stephen used those relationships to help market our services for additional signage such helping with their dimensional letter department signs.
These signs were constructed by layering PVC with a Brushed Aluminum Veneer and routing the individual letters.
As our relationship with GSU has continued, we have done somewhere between 40-100 dimensional letter signs for various departments throughout the University’s various campuses across the state. Our relationships over the years have allowed us to complete repeat sign orders of other types of graphics such as vinyl lettering for word walls and doors.
Rebranding new campus locations.
When the Board of Regents merged GSU with Gwinnett Perimeter College, we had the opportunity to help them with the rebranding work on all the different campuses.
Our first opportunity include working on updating the parking lot signs to at the facilities with GSU’s coloring and verbiage. From reserved signs to the handicap signage, we completed thousands of dollars in just parking lot signage over the course of 3 months.
Just like in the past, this job resulted in us developing additional relationships with the expanded Renovations and Construction Departments. These teams referred us to other department chairs and individual offices.
GSU Sign Projects
Along the way, there are a couple of highlight projects we have been able to complete for the school.
The first one was for GSU’s vending services. They wanted to bring more attention to the machines and use money from the vending company to make it happen. So, they decided to make a façade around the vending machines utilizing aluminum to emphasize the images from around campus. Then we had the opportunity to tie the entire project all together with the GSU logo and back lit channel letters.
Another great project creative project involved an overhaul for on campus student dining location Panther Pizza. GSU upgraded the whole front of the house with new signage, displays, and looks we created using new back lit channel letters for the entrance and new overhead signs for the different sections.
We are grateful to have offered the GSU faculty and staff the following services:
- ADA Signage
- Acrylic Directory Signs
- Department Dimensional Letters
- Aluminum Facades
- Graphic Displays
- Window Graphics
- Door Graphics
- Wall Graphics
- Parking Lot Signage
- Wayfinding Signs
