Big Green Egg is the world’s largest producer and international distributor of the highest-quality ceramic cooking system. The company has grown to include seven sizes of the EGG available throughout the world in over fifty countries, with hundreds of accessories designed to make cooking anything on a Egg an adventure. The website states “Often copied, but never equaled – the Big Green Egg is the Ultimate Cooking Experience!” and our appetites agree.
Fortunately for the team at Pinnacle, we get to share our expertise with the experts of the grill.
We have worked with the team at the Big Green Egg for several years now and were excited to be able to provide them with a quote for a vehicle wrap on their new corporate van. Our team was quick to provide them with pricing once they requested the quote. They noted that they continue to be impressed with our responsiveness and customer service.
Big Green Egg had just purchased a new vehicle and wanted to unwrap their old one to put it up for sale. So, our team provided them with pricing for both the unwrap of the old and putting the wrap on their new van.
Suggestions for the Design:
It is common for us to receive the vinyl ready design work from a customer’s design team when we receive an order from one of our larger corporate clients. However, it doesn’t mean our team doesn’t look for suggestions to help them maximize their work through materials or suggestions.
In this case, we suggested that the guys at Big Green Egg consider adding partially reflective graphics to their logo. This small change gave them higher visibility to people on the road, particularly after dark.
By adding the reflectivity, the crew could capitalize on the vehicle branding for marketing purposes after the sun went down.
Installation:
This particular installation process called for a full vehicle wrap that included the entire sides of the vehicle body and to add graphics to the front hood and above the windshield area.
The particular graphics for this installation were designed intricately to fit the vehicle so our installer Trent had to work the graphics from multiple angles to make sure they were applied at the right angle. Trent didn’t want the graphics on the hood scoop area to appear out of line when looking at it from the ground.
Because we wanted to enhance the logo with reflective vinyl, we actually used two different types of products on this van. The first product used to wrap the entire body was Avery Vinyl 1105SC. Then we went back over the logos with 3M’s IJ5100R-10 digital print-grade vinyl to provide better contour on the design.
In order to install both of these vinyl films correctly there are several steps that Trent had to complete. The installation process usually requires:
- Removing items such as handles and antennas on car to cover paint efficiently.
- Prepping the paint on the entire vehicle with alcohol.
- Laying out all panels for positioning on vehicle.
- Starting at the rear of the vehicle and working toward the front during application.
- Using a squeegee over the vinyl to eliminate any air bubbles.
- Double checking the graphics on vehicle to make sure placement is correct.
- Properly post heating to remove factory memory and allow the vinyl to contour to vehicle.
