We sat down to reflect on 2017 with the intent to narrow our year down to our favorite ten projects, but there was just too many great jobs this year. A lot of that is due to having the opportunity to work on some amazing projects. So, we want to close out this year with sharing our top 12 projects of 2017. Now we need you to help us determine the best sign of 2017.
So in no particular order, check out our top 12:
1 – St. Lawrence Catholic Church – Lawrenceville, GA
Our journey with St. Lawrence has truly been a journey. This project started two-years ago with many starts & stops that include a change of pastor at the location.
Pinnacle replaced the monument and the entrance & exit signs by removing the old signs plain/dull stone signs and replacing them with new entrance & exit sign was done using Peachtree Foamcraft signs to match the stonework on the church building. The monument sign is a Foamcraft base with a lighted cabinet and white push through lettering covered in perforated vinyl. The fabrication is truly unique and very modern looking. During this project we not only got to now the signage, but really got to know the people. #slcc2017
2 – Workout Anytime – Dunwoody, GA
We work with the Workout Anytime franchise across the United States as their preferred Signage Partner to ensure brand standards across all the companies locations. However, sometimes local ordinances do not work with general brand standards.
This Workout Anytime location is a great example. It is home to the only back-lit or halo channel letter sign installed for a Workout Anytime across the United States to comply with the City of Dunwoody sign ordinances. It made this familiar installation project distinctly unique. #woat2017
3 – Better Beans Branding for Educational Playcare
Better Beans Branding is helping Educational Playcare re-brand their business. We are in the process of creating wooden signs which will promote their program, their core values and things about their program.
We started by manufacturing these signs using our CNC router to cut the birch wood panels and then we print the graphics on them with the flatbed printer. We love how clean they look. As a matter of fact, Theresa liked them so much that, when we decided that we would put our core values on our wall, she decided to use this method to do it – with the addition of a graphic done on the laser engraver. #beans2017
4 – Midguard Storage – Gainesville, GA
On this project, we worked with Advanced Systems Construction who provides new construction and renovation for Reliant Management, who is the parent company of for Midguard and Smart Storage.
Pinnacle is working with Reliant on re-branding new locations as well as fixing signs damaged by the hurricanes earlier this year. The raceway for the signage at this location is extremely interesting. The raceway itself is cut into sections and some of the letters are actually attached to the logo shield so that we could provide an illuminated logo and all of the letters could be on the same plane. The front of the building has flush mount letters and custom painted PVC lettering underneath. #midguard2017
5 – Cady Studios – Brandywine Elementary School
This project provided us our first opportunity to work with the Cady Studios team to showcase the talents of our certified vinyl installer Trent’s skill set. His knowledge of completing Cinder Block Vinyl Wall wraps is a cut above and allows Cady help inspire students at school.
Our ability to complete this project opened up the door for us to provide more cinder block graphics in the region and work on the site of schools who team up with Cady Studios team that helps to build school pride throughout the school and in the students. #cady2017
6 – GRTA Monument Face Change
Pinnacle spent quite a deal of time on a project that was completed with all GRTA Express Park & Ride parking lots.
Each one of these locations across metro Atlanta needed the existing signs refaced for better wayfinding and direction. This project was a growth opportunity for us to present several different options to GRTA to find the best solution within their time frame and budget. #xpress2017
7 – Fitness 1440 – Norton, MA
On our first opportunity to work with our new national client Fitness 1440, we actually conduct the site visit and installations for their Norton, MA location.
This project included tons of wall graphics and a few dimensional installations that had to be produced ahead of installation and shipped for their new club that recently launched. Matt and Trent went out to do the install themselves to ensure Pinnacle standards were delivered to our client – First impressions matter! #Fitness2017
8 – Sixt – Hartsfield Atlanta Airport
As one of the largest European car rental agencies, Sixt is making its way into the US Markets. So why not start with the nation’s busiest airport?
Sixt contacted us to produce and install signs at their Hartsfield- Jackson airport location for car rentals. For this project, we did several very long cabinets to hang in the parking deck for to easier identify the spaces with their rental cars. We see this work often as we’ve racked up some frequent flyer miles in 2017. #sixt2017
9 – Small Cakes – Snellville, GA
This project was an opportunity to make an impression on another franchise.
The new Small Cakes in Snellville needed channel letters, a blade sign and window vinyl for their new store. The color combination for this project is not real commonly used and made it distinctive for our team. We love the cute look of their custom pink and brown logos! #cakery2017
10 – Phantom Fireworks – Decatur, GA
We have helped Phantom Fireworks with their branding across the United States the last few years, but this is by far one of the bigger projects we’ve completed.
This large outdoor sign is much larger than the normal signs we produce for Phantom Fireworks. We painted a purple routed aluminum backer behind the channel letters to help give the sign an even larger appearance. It shows off as well as their fireworks! #phantom2017
11 – North Atlanta Church
North Atlanta Church of Christ contacted us this year to help them replace and upgrade their directional signage.
The re-branding project for this church included removing the old signs were in bad shape and used stonework as a base. The new sign look is more modern and has a 3-D effect by using Peachtree Foamcraft to build the main sign. This project was memorable because the guys really had fun demo-ing the old monument sign before replacing it with the more eye-catching and modern version. #nac2017
12 – Pinnacle Custom Signs Truck Wrap
Why can’t we toot our horn for our own vehicle? This wrap is definitely unique and gets us noticed all over.
After a friendly in house competition with our design team this year, we unveiling our own new signage. What makes this wrap different than most is that we used a few different types of wrap media – print, matte and gloss to create a unique look to show the different wrap capabilities.
