Comcast Spotlight, a division of Comcast cable, was moving their office to a new location in Dunwoody, GA. One thing they wanted to do in the new location was to create a compelling look for their new space, starting with their lobby sign.
New Reception Area Sign
We were contacted by Jimmi Fillow, who was working with Comcast Spotlight in designing the layout of their new offices. Their logo was simply the company name with graphics in the letter “O” found in the word “Spotlight” to make it look like one. They wanted to make sure that the new sign made an impression on those who came to the office.
We talked through several design options for the lobby sign. One option was using a metal backer with acrylic letters on it. Another was to go with a brushed aluminum look.
The final design that was decided on was an acrylic letter sign that was mounted on to 1″ thick sign foam to give the sign a dimensional look to it. In addition, the graphics on the “O” used an additional layer of acrylic to make it stand out even more.
The acrylic and sign foam parts were routed out separately and then assembled using silicone. Since each letter was to be mounted separately, we then created a pattern to use as a guide for installation. The overall effect was a striking design that delighted the customer.
In addition to the lobby sign, we also installed name plates and posters that the customer had ordered prior to contacting us. Overall we spent two and a half full days helping Comcast Spotlight get their new office ready for the team to move in.
