A New Lobby Sign – Pink Barre Part 2

In a recent article of ours, we introduced you to Tara Joiner, the owner of Pink Barre, a new exercise studio in Atlanta. As we mentioned, this is a new business and had a need for both indoor and outdoor signs to brand their facility.  In the previous article we described an exterior sign we created for them.  In this article, Part Two, we talk about the lighted three-dimensional lobby sign we created for them.

A lobby sign, usually found in a reception area, makes a first impression of your business whenever a customer walks through your front door.  It is important that it has a clean and interesting design that communicates what your business is all about.

Reception Area Signs | Lobby Logo Signs | Interior Office SignOur second project for Pink Barre was a lighted lobby sign. It was important throughout the entire design process that we maintain her original branding and the overall atmosphere of the facility.

This particular lobby sign was a lot of fun to design. We started by meeting with Tara and showing her several different substrates we could use to create a one-of-a-kind-sign.

The overall goal was to keep the frontlit sign modern and clean, while maintaining their new brand identity.  We began by using a brushed aluminum poly-metal as a backer for the entire sign to properly set it off on the wall.

The second layer was white acrylic.  She picked out a great, pink Oracal vinyl to match her logo’s Pantone color and the Sherwin Williams custom paint color that was chosen for the blade sign.

The third layer (text and logo) was white, routed ¼” PVC with a pink vinyl overlay.  Matt did a great job with the routing, and the three-dimensional lettering and reversed “Pink” gives the sign a unique and polished look.

Adjustable standoffs were used to mount the custom reception area sign on the wall and provide space for the white LEDs and power supply, which are neatly hidden behind the backer.

The results were an amazing looking  LED sign that lights up the inside space of the studio and can be seen by pedestrian traffic as well.  Two birds with one stone!

We are looking forward to having the opportunity to continue to brand Pink Barre with exciting new projects at Tara’s Buckhead location!
